A/W18 Raf Simons Runway "Drugs" Jeans
Insanely cool and rare pair of jeans from Raf Simons’ Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.
They feature the iconic “Drugs” patches across the knees, referencing “Drugs”, a play written by Cookie Mueller and Glenn O’Brien. Both were key figures in New York’s downtown counterculture. Mueller was a writer, actress and frequent John Waters collaborator, while O’Brien was deeply connected to the city’s art, music and nightlife scenes.
The reference fits perfectly into AW18, a collection heavily centered around youth culture, nightlife, drugs and addiction. Raf used provocative drug-related imagery and references throughout the season, turning them into a commentary on the darker side of these subcultures.
Finished with a super nice straight fit.
